On November 11th, staff and students of the WRDSB will be observing Remembrance Day across the region. Remembrance Day is an opportunity to reflect on the past as we honour those brave men and women who have fought and died for Canada, its values and its people. We remember those who have fought. We remember those who have and continue to serve. And, we remember the countless who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the name of protecting our nation and our way of life.   Here in Elementary Remote Learning, we will be hosting separate assemblies for our Kindergarten/Primary Divsions and our Junior/Intermediate Divisions.

Both assemblies will begin at 10:30am. The general content that will be streamed is as follows:

  • Welcome
  • Territorial Acknowledgement
  • Messages of peace and remembering
  • Student artwork
  • Student recitation of poems
  • The Last Post

We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the great contributions and sacrifices made by those identifying as Indigenous, Black, Sikh, Chinese, French, Jewish, Muslim, LGBTQ+ and multiple marginalized communities to wartime and peacekeeping efforts.

We look forward to having students join us for this time of remembering’
